FEBRUARY 9th - ELDER OAKS IS MY NEW BFF

So this week was pretty lame except I got to hear Elder Dallin H. Oaks.  He came down to dedicate the new Mexico City MTC.   It was awesome and he hecka shook my hand and called me by name. It was sooo cool,  I havent felt that cool since being on the front page of the Deseret News for winning the state championship in soccer Hahaha!!  But after the conference I took Elder Oaks out for tacos and now he said I am gonna speak in General Conference when I get back... jk! I felt so cool.   I also saw Elder W.  and Elder M., I will send you some pics.
I didn't find that many new investigators, but we are still working hard to find some more, that really is all that happened.  We have changes this Sunday,  I honestly have no idea whats gonna happen. Me and Elder M. are working super hard right just trying to find new people but not much is happening.  We are having troubles getting our investigators to go to church, but its all good you can never get better if the Lord doesn't give you trials.
I love all of my Hump Day package.  We didnt do really anything  exciting ...just worked!   It wasnt that great but i loved the package that you sent it was awesome.  If you want you can send me some more skinny gangster ties and stuff.
Love you and say hi to the fam for me!

January 27th - STEEP MOUNTAINS and STRONG TREES!

I'm glad to hear Mexico was awesome...hahaha!!   I  loved the pics you sent.
Here is what happened this week ... honesty nothing... hahaha!!  But we are having trouble with investigators.   Most of them don't want to do anything and just like us to come by... it kinda sucks not gonna lie!
We had a zone conference and I learned a ton, like for real the Pres is a great speaker and he is a baller (even though I can't drink coke).  This whole week Elder M. and I we out tracting and have been trying to talk with everybody.   I ended up finding a family that accepted a visit and we are gonna go teach them this Wednesday or Thursday,  so that will be cool.   Also,  we were walking one day and some lady started screaming our names and ran after us...Hahaha!!  She told us that she has listened to the missionaries before and her husband died recently so she is sad and wants to start hearing the lessons again.  That should be cool, I hope we can put a baptism date with them this week.   They are a family of straight girls like 4 of them.
But that's about it.  Only had 1 investigator at church again I don't know why they don't want to go to church with us it sucks.... but its all right.   Every mountain the Lord gives us we just got to climb and after we are always stronger.   I heard something I really like this week, the strongest trees are the ones who have been through lots of storms and haven't broken down, its the same with us if we can endure we will always be stronger.

Adios talk to you later!

January 20th - try a REAL taco!!

(THIS WEEK OUR FAMILY WAS IN PUERTO VALLARTA AND ONLY 11 HOURS AWAY FROM JOSH!!)

Wasssup Momma ?? How is Mexico ??
Ok, so this week was kinda crappy.  We have like 6 investigators and only one of them came to church this week.   And the kid who we were gonna baptize this week can't be baptized anymore because he has bad grades and his dad won't let him if he doesn't try hard in school.   So that sucks!
Holy crap those pics of you in Mexico are so weird... its crazy to think that you are all here.   By the way that church is the nicest church I have ever seen...hahaha!!  I am glad you found the missionaries and are eating with them.   Have them take you to eat a real taco and ask them were you can eat tamales or tortas de tamal.   Make sure you find some tortas de tamal but the green tamales cuz those are the best ... its a sandwich with a tamale in it.  I eat one every morning. Or maybe they don't have them there.
We found out that Elder Oaks is coming to Mexico in a couple of weeks and gonna talk to us!! I am soo stoked!!   What's even cooler is that the zone leaders called me and asked if me and Elder M. would sing in the choir ...hahaha!!  So we are gonna tear it up ... you know dat!!
Tell the Grange's that I read there emails and loved them but I won't have time to write them back. So what's going on?  What are you gonna do in Mexico besides swim??   Make sure Kyle takes a good deep breath cuz this is his life in 2 years... Hahaha!!  Mexico is so gangster!  Make sure you eat tacos al pastor or carnitas those are like the best tacos in all of Mexico.  Take a good look at Mexico cuz that's what I have lived in for a year.  I hope you actuall see some ugly parts and not just Puerto Vallarta so you can see what i go through everyday.
Say "buenas tardes" to everyone and have Darin teach you guys the basics in Spanish and Kyle better say hello to everyone!! Love you all tons and take tons of pics this week.
Adios les amo mucho !! hasta luego!!

January 6th - Let's talk POOP!

Ok,  so this week was pretty ballin!   We had a baptism which was sooo cool and the lady we baptized (Hermana S.)  was sooo ready.  It was awesome.  I baptized her and and Elder M. confirmed her.
Also this week we had changes and Elder M. and I are staying here in Acoxpan.  I am stoked - this area is awesome.   We just need to work a little harder with the investigators that we have.   Right now we have been doing a lot better with our lessons and getting a lot of members to come and teach with us.  Also, the ward is helping us out more and more.  Elder M. is a champ, for real...he is gonna be a great missionary.
This week while we were walking in the street a bird crapped in my hair and it was nasty!!   But what's even more nastier is that I just left it in their all day cuz I didn't want to go home... hahaha!! Also, Elder M. got sick and so we have been eating chicken soup for every meal... I don't mind... I actually kind of like it.
The other day we were quoting Nacho Libre and we said the classic, "I have had diarrhea since Easters!"   But then I thought after and I was like wait... I really have had diarrhea since last Easter!!
It was kinda funny,  but for real I am always sick and haven't pooped normal for a while... hahaha! But that's about it for this week, everyday I just try to make myself better and better so we can have more and more success.  I love the mission and I love being a missionary.   It's hard but I finally can speak Spanish and I feel real good... YEAHBUDDY!!

P.S. that's gay the Packers lost ... I wore my Green Bay shirt to bed everyday this week for good luck.

I have to go Mom, I love you tons...Elder W. just called and told me he is in the area... I am gonna go see him...love you bye!!

December 9th - NEW COMP...CLAY'S LIL BRO.

So my new companion is from Provo and went to Timpview High.   He is pretty sick... not gonna lie!!  His name is Elder M. (like Clay) hahaha!!   We get a long great so far and he wants to work and stuff!!  I can tell he will be a good missionary.  He played football and soccer in high school, so likes sports which is awesome!
This week we had our Hermana T's baptism and it was dope!  I confirmed her yesterday too in front of everyone in the ward it was scary.
So these last couple weeks haven't been too eventful.  We walked a ton.  Right now the work is kinda slow but we put up 2 baptisms dates last week I am just hoping that they wont fall through.  One is Hermana T's mom for the 4th of January.  The other one is a little old lady, who is about 70.  We will have to work super hard with them but I am super excited.
Lately I have learned a ton about the mission, just about how hard work always brings blessings. Sometimes its hard to be exactly obedient but you always have more success when you are.
Some cool things that happened to me this week... I saw a lady peeing in the road, I saw for the first time a dead guy on the street and found some bullet shells on the street close to my house!  And yesterday there was a playoff soccer game for the US and there were about 400000000000000000000 people here...it was nuts!  Yeah buddy...other than that its the same old thing here in Mexico City. This mission is the sickest!!
I got your package and we put up the christmas tree yesterday.  When can I start opening the presents?  12 days before Christmas right?   The stockings are tight...hahaha!!   The tree is really sooo awesome... thanks soo much!!
I got to go, thanks so much Mom... I love you tons! I will talk to you next week.   ADIOS!!

Hermana T. and her whole family at her baptism.

November 18th, 2013 - SICK AGAIN!!

Ok,  so this week was kinda sucky.    We didn't do that much.  I was super sick on Monday and Tuesday we went to the doctor.   They told me my throat was infected,  but I am good now and I 'm taking antibiotics and stuff.
We  had a zone conference and I had to teach everyone for ten minutes by myself...Hahaha!   It was good though.  It has beeen soooo fetchin cold here this week.   One day it was so bad that when we were walking past the stadium I bought a scarf at a flee shop.   It's a soccer team scarf, it's sick!   It's blue and yellow and says America on it (the name of the team here).   Also the country of Mexico was playing in the stadium last Wednesday.  Holy Crap!  You should have seen how many people were here in this area partying in the streets.  Mexico won 5 to 1.   It was cool because we ate at a little kitchen thingy and they had a TV in there so we watched a little of the game.  Man, it was sick!
I miss sports so much.
By the way in zone conference, we talked a lot about stress management.   The President said he was going to change some rules here in a little to help with that.  So who knows,  maybe he will let us play sports and do excercise on p-days.   I am still waiting for the rule changes.
Also, this week also we had exchanges and I went with the new kid in our area.   It was so cool.  He was telling me tons of new stuff about the world that I didnt know.   It feels like I have been out for so long.   He told me all the new movies and songs it was soo weird... Hahaha!  But the coolest part of that day was we were teaching our last lesson and we were teaching the restoration and he doesn't speak Spanish very well.  So I did pretty much everything, but after it was so cool.   He was like,  "Dude, that lesson was perfect!"   Hahaha!   "How did you do that?"   It was so good to hear because I am super hard on myself and sometimes I don't realize how good I am at teaching (especially in another language).   But after that he thought I was so cool.  Not to sound like a tool, but it was cool just trying to help this new kid out because I know exactly how hard it is your first couple months here.
This week was also black friday here, so we didn't have any of our investigatores at church cuz they were all shopping.   There are deals all week and tons on Sunday, so that sucked.  It's frustrating because none of our investigatores really want to do anything.   They like it when we are there but hey dont ever read or pray.   But some do and we are gonna have one babtism on the 30 with a girl who is super ready... thats about it!
OK... peace out! I got to go love you all tons !!! Mom, don't worry about me, I am fine... Hahaha!!
I love you so much and tell the family I love them too.

October 28, 2013 - THEY LOVE ME!

Actually this week has been really good, we had intercambios and I went with Elder C. (from Ogden) and worked hard ... it was cool.  We had 30 lessons this week which is awesome because that's the missionaries goal every week.
We are still teaching this one super cool family.  The daughter is super awesome,  her name is T. and she is going to get baptized on 30th.   I think her mom also has a date for the 30th.   Her other sister and her boyfriend are awesome too but just kinda difficult to teach.   But they are awesome and took us to the Aztec Stadium today.
This week I have grown a ton.   I have learned a lot about myself.   I can just tell that every family that we teach really likes me and I can just really connect with them.   I  can always make them laugh.  This one family we taught, asked me to give a blessing to the mom because she is loosing her eye sight.   She is completely blind in her right eye and can hardly see out of her other.   She is pretty much blind and can't walk or do anything by herself.   It's really sad.   I was super nervous but I did it and felt good.  People were crying in the blessing.  That just helped me out big time because usually the people ask the missionary who is stronger and has the spirit.   It's a big testimony builder of obedience for me.  I get out of bed every morning and try to be obedient in everything I do and my companion doesn't really.   But it just shows me that if you are obedient your gonna have the spirit lots stronger and the members and investigators can tell.
Also,  I spoke in sacrament yesterday.   The bishop got bailed on so he called me 5 minutes before sacrament started and I talked for 10 minutes of faith ... Hahaha!!
Tell the fam I say what up!   And keep me in your prayers,
Love you tons, HASTA LUEGO!!!
