July 21, 2015 - LEAVING HOME

It's time...to leave the Gee Casa

Kyle's itinerary changed a couple weeks before he left.  He was originally supposed to enter the Mexico City MTC (Josh was so excited!) but it changed and to the Guatemala MTC (and that made Grandpa J. super excited!).  We left the house and headed to the Stake Center to get set apart...then off to the airport.

Bags are packed and headed to the Stake Center

Saying good-bye to Grandma Gee and Don

GETTING READY

There wasn't much time to waste.  Kyle finished his lacrosse season(Varsity All-Conference), prom, graduation from seminary and Davis High.  He went on a senior trip to Newport Beach and then had one month left to get ready.
He went thru the Bountiful Temple on July 1st.  Grandma Gee, Grandpa Don, the Fower's and the Mike and Alan's family came.  Grandpa J., Mel, Grahams, Baskin's, McCleary's and Tyson Denney
came as well.

Two weeks before he left, we met up with some boys and their parents who were leaving and serving in the same mission.  We met at City Creek at the Blue Lemon.  It was so comforting to met these boys and parents.  They immediately bonded and even attended a temple session the next day.

Hallman, Cope, Freeman, KYLE, Eggers and Rigby

Next on the list...the Farewell.  Sacrament Meeting was packed and I got the opportunity to speak with my close friend Carter (who was leaving for Cape Verde Mission).  The best part of the meeting was our youth speaker, Sydnee.  She shared her testimony about Alma the younger and missionary work.  She brought the spirit into the meeting.  When Kyle got up to speak, he shared his feelings about his little sister and that she gave the best hugs.  Immediately, Syd stood up and walked to the podium (while Kyle was still speaking) and gave him the biggest hug!  It was a great moment.

Apparently, Mom was too busy decorating, cooking, cleaning, eating and socializing to take any pics! It was a great day in the backyard with sandwiches, fruit, the ice cream maker & slushie maker and tons of desserts

ROUND TWO FOR THE GEE'S

Here we go again...

Kyle decided to turn in his mission papers in March of his senior year, so he could leave shortly after graduation.   His call arrived on April 7th.  He invited family and friends to come over which ended up being over 100 people.  They were all scrunched in the kitchen, family room and door way to hear where he was heading for 2 years.

Dear Elder Gee:

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  You are assigned in the El Salvador San Salvador West/Belize Mission....
You should report to the Mexico Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, July 22, 2015...

                                                                        Sincerely,

January 18th - MY LAST EMAIL AS A MISSIONARY...

This is my last email as a missionary.... I am overwhelmed with emotion right now.  We had Y's baptism and it was the perfect ending to my mission.  Not to mention the interview with Pres. I had yesterday.  Everyone had an interview for like 20 minutes and I was there for an hour just talking and crying with him.  He thanked me for all the hard work I have done and for loving every single one of my difficult comps that he has given me. I cried like a baby.  I'm so grateful for every hard day ,every hard companion that I have had cuz they have taught me so much. I am forever in debt to my Heavenly Father for giving me such a good, but hard mission.  I can't describe with words about the love I have towards the Savior and towards every single person that I have taught. I cant wait to see you all, but it's been super hard for me to hold back the tears everyday.  The church is so true and I know that Jesus is our Savior.
I will see all of you on Wednesday at 4:30. I love you all so much.  Have fun getting ready and I don't care what you make for dinner, I am good with anything.

I got to go Momma,
Love you...BYE!!
See you all soon.

January 12th - I STILL HAVE A WEEK & I STILL HAVE LOTS TO DO!

So Y. passed her baptism interview and she is getting baptized this Saturday.  No better way to end the mission.  She asked me to baptize her.  I am so happy.  We are working super hard and I'm just trying to give it my all this last week. It hasn't really hit me that I'm going home yet. I hope it doesn't cuz then I wont work hard.  I know I still have a week left and I need to do lots still
We have some other investigators and stuff, but they don't want to come to church.  But we are working super hard and just trying to love them. Everything is going super good, lots of work to do.
And yeah, you can get me set up for school if you want in Feb?  Is that kinda soon...naaaa just kidding!  Whatever you think is best.  That would be cool to get me in all the same classes as Hunter, so we can go together.  I couldn't be more happy if I could speak at other wards and help out with the mission prep class.  That would be cool.
When are we going to come back to Mexico?  oh yeah I got my suit done today.... Hahaha! its sick, its shiny Hahaha!!
I got to go Momma, make sure you keep me in your prayers.   Pray big time for Y. so she can get baptized.  I couldn't send any pics but I will have a ton when I get home, don't worry.
I will talk to you again this next Monday for the last time...

Love you tons Momma.
peace out!

Jan. 5th - I AM A FETCHIN BABY!!

Tell brother Bisk that I would love to go to the wards and talk, nothing makes me more happy in life than sharing my testimony with people, honestly!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to share my testimony for the last time as a missionary in sacrament.  I cried like a baby. I didn't even cry at my farewell...Hahaha! But yesterday I would have felt so ungrateful if I wouldn't have bore my testimony.  I cried so hard in front of this little ward and everyone was crying. I am getting really sad lately knowing that everything is coming to an end. I don't know what's up with me.  I just feel like crying lately all the time.  I have never cried this much in my whole life....like sometimes I just want to cry.  I am a fetchin baby!
Hey! I am getting a new suit so put some money in my account. This morning I went to Acoxpan and a little lady who makes suits is making me a way sick one.  It's probably gonna cost like 100 bones though, so hook me up!  The suit is gonna be gray but it's gonna be shiny!!  Weeee, yeah buddy!! But put some money in my account cuz I am buying that suit.  It's custom fit for me and it's ballin!  I am gonna look real good!!
K, so keep praying big time for Y. because she is getting close to her baptism and she needs to make some last minute changes.  This last week was awesome. I really am feeling like an instrument in the Lords hands lately and nothing makes me more happy.  This was a good last week,  nothing too special just trying to work as hard as I can.  I love the mission.
I can't send any pics sorry, next week I will.

I got to go Momma. I love you tons and make sure you keep Y. in your prayers.  I love you all so much. Bye.
