July 9, 2013 - ANOTHER WEEK DOWN!

First of all, I love my companion, Elder Y., he is super sick and way smart he knows everything about computers and was telling me he can hack anyone’s Facebook account.  Hahaha!  We are doing a lot better in my area and we work super hard every day.
We have some investigators that are super interested but don’t want to get married so that’s hard (his name is Josue), he is in the police and always shows us his guns and stuff.   Hahaha!  he has got a gangster little shotgun, 20 gauge, that’s just like green T’s (shout out to KG) when we went and shot skeet for the yule log with Big Red (shout out to Condon, Juan,  Carsen and Hunteeeez and KG)  But anyways he wants to take me and Elder Y. out to shoot clay pigeons for one of our p days.  Hahaha!  We are gonna ask the Pres tomorrow about it, but you betta beleeeeedat I’m gonna show these cholos how to drop dem clay pigeons!  Hahaha! .
Also we have a girl who is 15 or so about to get baptized on the 4 of August.   She is so cool and super smart.  She knows pretty much everything and we really don’t even have to teach her cuz she gets everything, we are super lucky with her.  We are having some trouble finding more people to teach and every time we find someone they live like a block out of our area so that kinda sucks.   But overall our area is awesome and we are doing super good right now.
I can feel my Spanish getting better just because we are super obedient and I know for a fact that obedience brings blessings.
Anyways, the other day I bought some brass knuckles in the flea market cuz we always get chased and attacked by dogs all the time and some missionaries got jumped.   So I always got those in my backpack now!  Hahaha!

June 17, 2013 - NEW COMPANION

My new companion is Elder Y.  He is super cool and we get along.  It's hard cuz we work super hard and it's a hard transition right now for me from Elder L.   We walk all day and work all day long with out breaks.  But we have fun.  He loves Disney movies, Monty Python and other movies that we quote all the time.  Hahaha!  We were belting out all the Disney songs this morning on my iPod.  Haha!
So right now we are just working a ton on finding new people and filling everyday with appointments.  It's hard but our area is doing way better, but I haven't felt better.  I feel like straight crap when we don't get in houses and walk all day, but when we have lessons  - I feel way good.  We received 2 new investigators this week.  I am stoked about one of them, he stopped us in the street and started talking in English and said he and his wife (probably girlfriend) are looking for a church.  My Spanish also is getting way better cuz Elder Y. helps me and I do a lot of the talking, like anytime we are knocking on doors - I do most of the talking. Hahaha!

June 7, 2013 - MEXICO CITY TEMPLE

It took us like two hours with bus and the tram aka micro and metro to get to the temple ... holy crap, it was crazy.  It honestly reminds me of the New York city subway and stuff but honestly MORE people and its way sweatier and stinkier!!
OK Momma, here is the dealio this week... so last week I forgot to tell you we did service twice last week for two less active families.   It was pretty ballin to get out of these church clothes and do some stuff outside.  First we painted this guys roof, kind of sucked but I had fun.  Then we helped this other guy move everything out of his office.  That was hard but we got to drive around the city a ton and move stuff back and forth.   It was fun.  Then last week at the end we found this new guy named, D.,  he is a soldier in the army and is super interested so we gave him a BOM.   But he wasn't there when we went back to visit him on Thursday.
OK,  this week has gone by super fast.   Then yesterday we had an evaluation and I got to see Elder M. and B. but not Elder W.,  It was good to seem them but I was chapped I didn't see W.  I wanna see Elder W. big time but I get to see him in like four days so whatever.
So today we went to the temple and it was super weird  doing a session in Spanish Hahaha!  But it was way cool.  The Mexico City Temple is one of the biggest in the world and I couldn't believe how big it was ...it has escalators and stuff.  Hahaha!   Then after we stopped at Estadio Azteca aka the stadium for Club America Soccer.   It was sick.   I took some pics and I bought a dooooooopppeeeee jersey at the flee market outside the stadium.   Now I can rep the Aguilas aka The Eagles on p-day. Then just barely,  we went and watched one of our investigators ref a soccer team play.  Hahaha!  Oh and lately we have been going to this herbalife shack around the corner of our house,  this lady we have been teaching makes protein shakes all day and sometimes she hooks us up or members take us there and buy us shakes.   Hahaha! this little shack is always bumpin with beandaddys and we always talk to people there and contact people - its pretty sick!
My Spanish honestly feels like it gets worse every day instead of better but I can understand more and more every week.  I still pause a lot and can't think of words when I'm talking.
But I think that's all I got right now.... oh ya, tell Syd to say what up to Pete the Janitor for me and tell Kyle I will write him a letter in Spanish right now and probably dad too. But I will write you again on Monday when I find out who my nuevo compenero is!!

May 6, 2013 - 5 DE MAYO!

We had changes and transfers this week so we got to meet up with other missionaries.  I saw W. and the other hood rats.... it was sick.  Then Thursday we got to go to immigration again I didn't see W. but I got to be Elder B's companion all day.   He is sick!   We got a new elder in our district,  he is super cool he's from Oregon and super nice.   He helped me out with Spanish.  Yesterday we had church,  normal day except some a little kid interviewed me for their school English project. Hahaha!
They needed someeone who was fluent in English so they asked me all these questions.
P.S. I didn't even know it was 5 de mayo yesterday.  Hahaha!  Shows how big it is here! Oh ya,  when do you want me to call you on Saturday (for Mother's Day) or would Friday be better.   I want the whole family there.

APRIL 8, 2013 - GENERAL CONFERNCE WEEKEND

General Conference here was g-unit, also I loved the talks and took notes on all of them.  I  liked President Monson's and I really like Elder Holland's on Sunday about faith.  That was probably my favorite.  I got to watch it in English wit a ton of kids from Utah.  Elder R. (from Syracuse), Elder E. (Spanish Fork) and Elder P and Elder G from Orem.  Elder L. watched it in Spanish with all the ward and stake members.  The church was packed.  But yes, this conference was way better than others. On Saturday, some members brought food to the church and yesterday we went and ate at a member's house.  Ita was actually kind of good except arroz con leche aka rice with milk.  Tell Alan, he will think thats hilarious.
Elder L. is way cool and sometimes I don't understand him but he is super funny and he works hard except these last couple days he hasn't much i think he is ready to go home.  He has 7 more weeks left. Hahaha!
We don't cook but I wish sometimes we did. We have a meal with a member everyday . I wish we could eat tacos on the street every day.  Hahaha!  Our laundry is done by a member also, I'm pretty lucky.  Sometimes we eat at a little shack on the street or we buy food.  We have only had to buy food like 3 times.  We usually have to buy bead for the mornings and stuff.  We eat one meal at like 2:30 and that's all.  If I am hungry I usually buy chips or something.  I have some mean diarrhea right now, so far I haven't got that sick.  I am usually always full cuz we eat so much at 2:30 I always want to barf after. Hahaha!  I haven't had a coke yet....it sucks!
I have tried mole and it's nasty (It's black stuff with weeds in it).  Tacos here are good, soup is usually good but really spicy and there is no such thing as mild salsa.
Everyday we wake up at 6:30 and leave the apartment around 10 or eleven.  Then we come home at 9:00 p.m.  I usually go to sleep early cuz I am so tired.
This week we taught lots of people but no baptisms.  We have one man named H. who wants go get baptized soon, so maybe in a week or two we will have a baptism with him.   I love him a lot.  He went to priesthood session and conference on Sunday and said he received an answer.   We had 3 or 4 investigators come to conference.
Oh! this week we taught these cute little girls they reminded me of Syd so much.  They love One Direction, BTR and Justin Bieber.   They had me translate some of there songs for them.   Hahaha!  It's  so sad that they love these artists but don't know what any of the songs mean.  I felt bad these girls are like 8 and 11.  They are so cute and we taught them to pray.  There dad I think is a member,  I'm not sure.
Some lady we taught thought I was 28 years old.  Hahaha!  And I ran away from a drunk guy 2 days ago cuz he would leave us alone Hahaha!  He was nice though,  he was just walking and saying weird stuff.  He gave us each a 2 minute long hug and then we ran. Hahaha!
I love you,  remember that and don't miss me cuz I am
trying not to miss you in the nicest way possible,  hopefully that doesn't sound mean.
Oh! P.S.  I  had to get a hair cut so I cut my hair with some scissors I stole from the nursery at church.  Like the crayola ones. Hahaha!  And Elder L. gave me a number 2 on the sides Hahaha! it was sooo funny!!

MY FIRST COMPANION AND AREA

Hahaha!   I have so much to tell you.  First my companion is Elder L. (from a  city south of Mexico City called Colima) and he is really cool and really funny.  We work really hard, he only speaks Spanish and can sometime understand English.  He doesn't really speak it though, but was can communicate fine and we are in an area called San Pedro Martir.  The members are really cool.  We have like 4 appointments a day either investigators or less active members.  We have one meal with the members in the afternoon.
It's pretty dang poor but I have both (rich and poor) in my area.   Some houses are literally the size of my bedroom, kinda when we did Christmas in Mexico and visited houses.   The food here is gross and I  have had to gag down every meal. as in Mexico and visited houses.   The food here is gross and I  have had to gag down every meal.   I have a nice apartment just me and Elder L. in it and we have a hot shower.
I have a ton of food left from the MTC.  My apartment is an hour with traffic away from the mission home.  My president is really funny and stuff but his rules are a joke.  No sports with missionaries ever ... no coke, pink ties and some others.  We can go bowling but there is nothing in our area to do on p-days.  And Elder W. is an hour away too, I miss him.

So we were at this little shack buying something to eat and some guy stops me and asked me in English,  What are you doing here and I said I am on a mission and I told him that I want to serve the people and talk about god.  He was like tell me I want to know,  so we set up the next day an appointment and we talked about Joseph Smith, the apostasy and prayer and this was all in English.   So I was the only one teaching, for the first time ever.  I am always just sitting and watching my companion teach and never say anything.  Anyways, he was like I went to jail and I found god I don't have a car, family or anything and now I drink all the time.  And I told him there was a reason he stopped me I and almost started crying for real.  I was like you were suppose to stop me and talk and he was like ya I know.  We gave him a pamphlet and he is going to read and pray.  He said he is going to stop drinking too, we didn't even have to ask him.   Like for real,  I love this guy his name is Arnulfo and he lived in Colorado for a little.   He didnt come to church though yesterday but we teach him agian this week.   It was soooo cool.
We didn't have Easter dinner.   People don't celebrate Easter here.   I didn't even know it was Easter Hahaha!  The meal last night was all right gross nasty spaghetti and some good tacos except they were covered in sour cream, but whatever it was good.  I just want to learn Spanish right now soooo bad... Hahaha I don't understand anything really.

MARCH 26, 2013 - MEXICO BOUND!

Hey mom, so I just got here and I am fine.  Let me tell you that Mexico City is nuts and there are tons of people.  I don't know who my comp is yet but supposedly he is a native so I don't know what's gonna happen.  Don't worry about me but for sure keep me in your prayers because its like I am starting a new mish all over again.  Hahaha!   But we got here at like 2:00 and we walked through the airport and ate some pizza.   Then we got greeted by some missionaries here.   They are pretty cool and I like them.  We are spending the night tonight with the AP's and stuff.   They are cool too.   Right now I am at the mission office and stuff.   We just go the low down on all the rules and that kinda sucked.   There are for sure tons of rules and ...........no coke........ ya, I'm chapped but I had a nice Monzanita Sol... beleeedat!!   Right now I am waiting for my interview with the president and he will tell me where I am serving and who my companion is.   Right now I'm pretty happy, I don't know how this week is gonna be for me though.
It's pretty nuts here though,  classic Mexico.   We took a taxi and it was pretty funny it reminded me of Puerto Vallarta and stuff.  So I don't know who is gonna be in my district or anything but I will find out soon.   I don't know when I am gonna be able to write to you next.   My p-day is on Monday and I get an hour to email maybe longer cuz the new rule.  Anyways after this I am gonna go eat some tacos and stuff at somewhere nice supposedly that will be sick.
I want to let you know that I love you all so much and that I was super pumped to talk to you all today it was sooooo nice to hear from you all. I love you and I will try to write as soon as possible and let you know the low down.   Keep me in your prayers and tell the fam I love them!!
