Oct 24th - PEACIN OUT!

Yo fam!

Hey wad di gwan brothas and sistas!!  How is everyone doing?  Before I say anymore, I just want to give a shout out to Hayden Grange for beating Layton in OT!!  Me and my Zone Leader,  Elder Osiek who is from Layton made a bet that whoever wins has to buy the winner a soft serve ice cream...heck yeah Hayden!! Looking out for me here man...muchas gracias!  Tanks mi bwaii!!

Okay now we got that outta the way.  This is the end of the transfer which means....changes! And guess what....IM GOING TO SAN PEDRO!!  Elder Merida, from Guatemala will be my comp. He's a super cool latino.  He is Elder Hallman's son!  I can't wait to get out there and serve with him tomorrow "D.Y.C 4 is about to be in full effect" hahaha! I  will send you guys pics with him for sure next Pday.

So.........my time here in Belize City is over.  I am actually super sad to say good-bye to all the members and people I taught, but Elder Burrell is going to do work here and carry on the great Belize City tradition.  I set him up with 4 positive people to baptize...so he's happy, lol!  I took a ton of pics with all the people I served.  I don't want to talk about leaving too much because that will take too much time. But all in all I am sad to leave but excited to go to the "Isla Bonita" so they call it.

Well, this week was super good. We taught a lot of cool lessons, and we cleaned the food truck again. This time it only took us 45 minutes because me and my comp have a system.  After she bought us pizza...meat lovers mind you!! So good!!  We taught and visited with her and talked about life and church...ya know the norm.  She showed us a clip of a movie called "The Miracle of Cokeville" it is soo good. It's about how a man holds kids in a elementary school hostage, and the bomb goes off, but in the end the only 2 people who died were the bombers...it was a miracle. It talks about how they saw angels and how an inactive father finds his family again thru this experience. It was super strong...the Spirit. I loved it.

We also had 2 investigators come to church, so me and Burrell were pumped.  F. and C. our investigators will be baptized sometime in November.  I look forward to hearing about their progress.

I love you guys so much...I honestly wonder to myself I am soooo lucky to be a missionary and advocate of the truth.  I love Belize City but I know I am going to love San Pedro. I know that the Lord has so many special people in store for me and my next comp.!!

Oct 7th - $2 LESSON

Yo fam,

What's up everybody? Thanks Momma for the package that you sent me...I got some nice pictures to send you with all the decorations, hahaha my companions loved them!  We especially loved the make up kit...we are going to do it on the last day of the change which is next Monday...holy crap, time flies by so fast.!! I hope to speak to all of you guys really soon.

This week with my companion was pretty good.!! We started off with family home evening with the less active family that owns the food truck.  The mom is active but the daughters aren't, so we taught about "The Love Of God".  I taught the lesson with a 2 dollar bill...I asked if they all wanted it. They said, "yes!!"  I started to crumple it and step on it with my shoes and asked again, "You guys still want it?"  They said, "yes!!"  I asked, "Why?" and they responded, "Because it's still worth money." Thats right!  We are like this 2 dollar bill...we get stepped on...torn apart...even faded away; but no matter what our Father in Heaven still loves us and accepts us.  It was a cool lesson and they all shared their thoughts and feelings about the topic.  It was spiritual.

We taught G. yesterday, we taught that Baptism and holding the Priesthood will make him a better parent and gain a closer relationship to his kids...he loved it!  We testified that one day he could hold it and bless the lives of his own family.  I bore my testimony that I am eternally grateful for the blessing my own father has shown me of the importance of holding that priesthood and blessing me and lifting me when I mostly needed it.  Elder Burrell bore his testimony as well...the spirit was so thick it brought me to a couple of tears!  G. told us "I love how you guys are so much younger than me and you are talking to me as though you are my own dad."  We told him, "Its the Spirit what you are feeling."  He accepted a baptismal date for the 5 of November with his wife....potential there!!!!!

I love you guys and don't forget to pray daily!!!!

Oct. 3rd - CONFERENCE BABY!!

Yo fam!

Hey, what's up everybody? How's everyone doing? Also, how was conference?  Pretty good huh? I wish I would have had gotten the full effect because I was trying to fight all the crazy noise in the chapel. All the crazy babies and stupid little side conversations, that are of no importance...."THIS IS THE PROPHET SPEAKING...SHUT UP!! hahaha!  No, I loved conference...it always helps me mentally with everything.  It soothes me in ways I can't even explain.  Words inspired for sure!

This week was super awesome. We taught and taught and taught!!  Just trying to prepare the people for conference and telling them that church doesn't start till 10...they said "Awesome, Elders we can now sleep in..." Hahaha, my gosh these people are always looking for excuses to sleep always. I loved the conference.  We ended up having like 150 people in the chapel there both English and Spanish branches and ended up having like 4 investigators.  One couple came, named G and G...we are teaching.  They loved it...they just couldn't concentrate because of the crazy noise.  I told them about lds.org and how you can watch them over and over again.  They were excited about that.  Also this less active guy named Bro. K. who hasn't come to church in over 10 years or so...finally came because I gave him a pair of my shoes.  I told him, "it's more important to me that you go than just shoes!"  I gave me a huge hug and he told me "You will see me there my Brotha" So cool and I'm grateful I can help in anyway that I can.

My favorite talk was Elder Rasband...I loved how he talked about "Remembering your Spiritual Experiences."  I loved that and it touched my heart big time.  It relates to us all because we all have them.  And in the end its those experiences that are going to lift us and carry us home to our Heavenly Father.  I loved Eyring's talk and Uctdorf's as well....I loved how Uchtdorf said, "We are all sons and daughters of the most high God...isn't that amazing?"  That touched me big time too.  I love this gospel and love that we have men that are literally called of God and give us inspired instructions.  I noticed that my favorite scripture was mentioned like 10 times. Mosiah 3:19!!  We need to put off the natural man and become as a little saint thru the enticings of the Holy Spirit...then and only then will we experience true joy.

I love you guys and Pray always!!!

Sept 26th - PISTOL PETE

Hey wad di gwan yall!!!  Hey what's up everybody...another week down! Just another beautiful day down here in Belize City...home of the fried chicken! Nothin betta!!  The work is definitely getting better and the time is going a lot faster.  But I hope you guys had a great week....P.S: I'm pissed I wont be there for the opening duck hunt.

So this week,  me and Elder Burrell are teaching a man named S.  He's a guy that our Branch Missionary Leader referred to us. He's super cool and super spiritual.  While we were explaining the Plan of Salvation to him he bore a 30 minute testimony of his life,  experiences and how much he appreciates us coming over to speak with him because he doesn't feel like he can't tell any one else. It was sooooo spiritual.  I remember just sitting there listening to this man pouring his heart out and expressing his love for Christ.  We have a date for him on the 15 of October.

Also we have a new Branch President. His name is President Munoz.  I love him and admire him a lot for what he is already doing so far....he loves the missionaries!  We had a meeting in the church after all the meetings and he broke down and expressed how much he loves us.  And how much the BOM has changed his life.  It was assuring to hear that because our last Branch President didn't talk to me really once.  I look forward to working with him.

I was reading this morning a talk given by Elder Bednar about "The Character of Christ." I loved it so much!!  It basically talks about when trials occur, the natural man wants us to look inward...while the Savior suffered for us, he was looking outward!!  It was incredible.  I sat and pondered about it a lot...."We are being blessed with this marvelous gift as we increasingly reach outward when the natural man or the natural woman in us would typically turn inward." I think we can all learn from this lesson. Why do we turn inward when we should actually being reaching outward.!! I love that. If we reach out than thats when our true ChristLike Character comes out...and its deep within every son and daughter of God.

Love you guys and hope you enjoy Conference this weekend...
P.S: Dad you gotta beat the Jacobs to Wingers!!!

Sept. 19th - MONTH OF CELEBRATIONS!

Yo fam,

Hey, whats up everyone?  How's everyone doing this week?  This week was a pretty good week in Belize City 3!!  I wanna hear how all you are doing!!  I can't believe Hayden drove the Mustang...those were some pretty cool pics.!!

Me and Elder Burrell are doing super well!!  I like that we are working a lot!  We are finding a lot of new people and are teaching a ton of less actives.  We had 2 less active people come to church yesterday that was super cool...the feeling of someone that hasn't come to church in a long time is just as thrilling as if you are getting baptisms.  To see people rekindle their faith and become active again makes me feel super good.

Here in Belize the month of September is the month of celebrations it's known as "Carnival" and we were ordered by President not to leave the house the whole day on Saturday.  Its too dangerous in the streets.  So we cleaned the house and I read almost the entire book of Our Search for Happiness.  So that was pretty fun...hahaha, just kidding... it sucked!!  Kinda boring to stay in the house all day.

We found an awesome new investigator, his name is J., and I remember on Friday we were contacting in the streets and we passed by his house and I stopped and said to Elder Burrell, "I don't know why but I feel like we should contact this house....lets go!" So we did and the lesson we had with him was incredible...he told us he saw us passing by and was wondering if we were gonna stop or not. He was super grateful we did.

That was a cool experience...another testimony builder that God is at the helm and He knows what people are ready. "Many are called but few are chosen".  I feel like this guy has a lot of potential so lets see how far it goes. A.  is doing super well but didn't come to Church because of the Carnival Celebrations and due to local shootings he didn't dare leave his house.  But he is still super positive. He has a ton of questions which is good because it tells us he is still interested.

I love you guys and pray for you guys always.!!!

P.S: Sorry this is the only pic we have!!

Sept. 12th - CHURCH BWAII

Yo fam,

Hey, what's up everybody?  How's life??  The mission life is super dope here in Belize City!  I can't believe we made it through another week. This week seriously felt like 2 days it went by so fast. Also I have some sick pictures from last p-day on San Pedro, so get ready to receive some cool beach pics. But how was your week....good?

So this week, we found out that my companion will be going back to El Salvador tomorrow. And I will be receiving my new comp tomorrow. He will be...........................ELDER BURRELL!! He's from my group and he's from Syracuse, Utah.  Pretty cool I'm pretty stoked to see the things we can accomplish.  But yes, I will be staying a third change in Belize City 3.  I'm super felize. But yeah I will see him tomorrow at the chapel.  FRIED JACKS ON ME... hahaha!

But yeah, this week of working was super cool and a lot better.  We found a cool guy named S.  He was receiving the missionaries earlier and said he read the whole Book of Mormon before as well with the whole Teachings of George Albert Smith book.  That's pretty cool.  We will go visit him sometime this week. He accepted our invitation to be baptized so that's super cool miracle!  But as far as working goes, thats about it, sorry!  I don't have a lot to write. But I do have a funny story to brighten your day....

So we were walking down the street and this guy with a Belikin Beer stopped us and said, "You guys want a beer?"  While he was laughing and we said, "No, were good and started to laugh as well."  He then said,  "Oh, thats right, you are Mormons....Thomas S Monson wouldn't like that right?" Hahaha, just some random drunk guy in the street!  We don't know how he knows about Thomas Monson....probably a member.

Much love everyone and I hope to hear from all of you guys soon.

Aug 29th - WORKING WITH THE LESS ACTIVE

Yo Fam,

Hey what's up everybody?  It's a beautiful morning here in Belize City getting on to write my favorite people.  This week was pretty good but also super slow. But we ended doing a lot of cool things this week.

This week me and my companion went to visit a less active member who runs a food truck business here in Belize City.  She was baptized 20 years ago and just loves the missionaries.  She told us that missionaries haven't been able to visit here in a long time.  So she offered to take us out to eat at a restaurant called, "The Milky Way" and it was really nice and the portions were massive.  There's pictures at the bottom...it was the four elders in my house and the senior couples came as well...and she paid for ALL OF US!!  She was so nice.  She was talking to me about some deep personal things...like how she wanted to go back to church for years but she can't get a couple of things together.  I told her not to worry about it and how we as members constantly make mistakes and we're not perfect...but we need to take the sacrament every week.  That's the only way we can renew our covenants we make with Heavenly Father at baptism.  That lesson really woke her up and she felt really inspired.  She even came to church yesterday and it was district conference, which meansPresident and Sister Adams were there.  It was so cool.  They gave great talks and encouraged the members to make their visit because home teaching here in Belize is 6%...that's awful.
She brought her two daughters and son in law (not a member) and I remember feeling so at peace like I actually accomplished something good this week.  She came up to me after the meeting talking about how great church was.  She expressed to me how much she loved talking to me...how she feels the spirit when she speaks to me.  She told me that she thinks in 20 years I will become a General Authority...and I was just like, "uh...maybe Sister, you never know!  Thanks for the compliment."  This sister means a lot and she's got a real sweet heart.  I lover her to death and constantly make weekly visits with her.  And she's becoming more and more active in the church.  That was pretty much the highlight of the week.  As far as working goes, we don't have any progressing investigators and the work is super, super hard in our area.
Keep us in your prayers, always remember that you are in all of mine.  I pray for you guys a million times a day!  I think about you guys all the time!!
