Feb. 25th - STAYING IN EL CIMA!!

Yo fam, whats up! This week was super cool. Not too eventful this week, like last week but you guys already know that Elder Harris and I are balling so hard!!  We are staying together another change....yeah buddy! I'm super pumped about it. That means that we are gonna baptize the investigators and have more success! I'm super excited and so is my comp.

Well, this week we only had a Multizone with President and Sister Adams. To be completely honest, it kinda sucked because it was so long. We sat there for 5 hours straight about things we need to do better and rules we need to follow. I'm pretty sure he wasn't' happy and thats why he was macheting all the disobedient missionaries. I don't blame him tho...there are a lot of knucklehead missionaries that don't follow the rules. But it was fun i saw a bunch of homies.

As far as the work goes, things are getting kinda slow.  C. told us he wants to get baptized sometime this week.  Not sure when.  He will let us know. J.  hasn't come to church in like 2 weeks and he is kinda losing interest...put him in your prayers. He feels super uncomfortable with the Word of Wisdom, he has a problem with Tobacco. But he told us he is willing to try to see the difference. But as far as the work goes that is pretty much it.

I love you guys I know I didn't write a lot but its because nothing happened this week. All that happened was work, work and work.  But its the best and I'm living the dream.

Feb. 22nd - GOTTA GO SAVE SOME LIVES!

What's up Fam?,

This week was pretty cool, its always a cool week when your serving the Lord...Belizedat! You already know...Elder Harris and I declaring "repentance" to this fools up in here. Not easy, but we manage to get through everyday laughing at everything. I am grateful I have a companion that has the same sense of humor as i do...everyday is a blast and we ball so hard on this El SalvadoreƱos, hahaha!

Alright now to the good stuff, again we are writing on Tuesday because we went to a sick Volcano in Santa Ana with the whole zone....belizedat, you already know I'm gonna hook it up with some pics!  The volcano was super dope...its like 1 hour and a half in bus from our zone...and like a hour to 2 hour hike to get the top..the view was unbelievable. I have some serious sore legs because we walked for eternity!! The sisters were dying the whole time and Elder Harris and I were laughing our heads off because we kept singing, "Lord of the Ring" songs while climbing the mountain...we are so mature!!

But last week we went bowling and my freaking companion killed me...he's a freakin hustler...I owe him a coca cola now...i was so ticked.  Oh ya and the sisters did okay. The real competition was between me and my comp. I remember there is one sister who is still training in our zone that came with us and it was the first time she ever went bowling....she was so worried about it because she thought she would do so bad..she said, "Elder Gee, what if the ball takes me...hahaha!! That's funny because she's super tiny and the ball was super big...but all and all it was a good time and it was a successful p-day. On a side note, we went thrift shopping Macklemore style and bought some sick ties 3 for 5 bucks....I bought a sick Bone Fish one!!

Elder Harris had another operation, he had a bad ingrown toe nail...this is like his 7th operation, and we were commanded to stay in the house for 2 days. It freaking sucked but we ordered pizza and that was sick!! The next day I went on interchanges with Elder Blair my AP. It was a blast...we found them a new positive investigator. Her name is W. and she is a daughter of members in their ward....it was cool because we invited her to be baptized for the 12 of March and she accepted...she told us after that she was always interested in the message, she just didn't know how to ask the missionaries she was interested. Wow...that's cool and she's super pilas (Ready for baptism).

As for our own investigators, J is our most positive. He is super cool and funny. He has a date for this Sunday but he didn't come to church last Sunday so that kinda sucked. Put him in your prayers and hope he doesn't flake out on us...that would be a heartbreaker.!! Also we have a man that is named C., he has been to church like 4 times and everything super cool and all, but doesn't want to get baptized....he told us he has been baptized like 3 times already and doesn't understand why he should be baptized a fourth time!  Put him in your prayers and hope that he comes around.

Love you guys and want you to know that I'm never coming home, I love the mission too much!! Its honestly the best decision I have ever made in my life...and now I'm just trying to be the best I can be!! True happiness doesn't come from Instagram, twitter, sports, xbox, getting huge, or even kissing the pretty girls...although many people will disagree on that last one. True happiness comes from feeding the Lord's sheep and helping see their true potential...thats my testimony and I continue to live on that legacy!!

I gotta go save some lives!!

Feb 13th - CAR WASH GRATIS!

Que tal familia

Hey whats up? This week was super sick and fun. Elder Harris is now feeling better and eating normal foods so things are picking up again. We had a fun hardworking week.!! We had a interview with the Stake President, President Markland. (cool fact, he's actually from Utah, and he served his mission in the East mission) He and his wife are in our ward...they have little kids who make a ton of noise in the sacrament speaking English, its kinda cute!  But anyways, we had an interview with him on how the zone is doing in the ward, bishop, ward missionary leader, if or if not they are supporting us, stuff like that. Cool guy and loves El Salvador...he thinks its better than living in Utah....THATS A LIE!

We had a zone conference, and it was a success. We talked about helping our investigators make commitments so that they can progress faster. We had a fun little activity where each companionship had to find hidden candies and each companionship had one that was blindfolded and the other one was handcuffed and the one that was handcuffed had to guide the other one to find the candies.  It's just like how we have to help our investigators make commitments, so many times they are blind to find the blessings. It was great and everyone participated.

We had 4 investigators come to church yesterday, super sick for our ward. We have one investigator that is named J.S, who has gotten out of jail since  3 weeks ago.  I don't know if it was a terrible crime because he was only there for 6 months, it probably was for drugs or something and he's only 19.  But the wife of the 2nd counselor of the temple, called a lawyer and helped him out...because he doesn't have family.  He currently works for her and her husband as a cleaner and a gardner. He is super sick...he read the bible everyday in the prison and wants to change his life super bad. He has 2 attendances for church, and will get baptized for the 25th of this month. Super happy for him and his progress he is making...for me its just a great feeling to know we are helping him repent and make changes in his life.

Well, thats the week so far, not too eventful but it was a good week. We did a free car wash and found some new people in the Los Heroes zone!

I love you guys and pray for you guys like a million times a day!!

Feb 7th - HOSPITALS ARE THE BEST!

Hola,

Okay I know you all are thinking...what the heck are you writing us on a Tuesday...its a long story but its worth it trust me!!

Everything in this zone is sick. My companion Elder Harris and I are having way too much fun...more fun then I think we should. Elder Harris and I are working super hard to get the zone going...because a couple of missionaries in our zone are discouraged.  Because in El Salvador you put up with a lot of rejections especially in the capital. A lot of expensive houses and people who think they are too good for the gospel, so its tough. SO my companion and I have to put up with that a lot...and the sisters in our zone complain a lot. Me and Elder Harris have to constantly remind them that we are not here to babysit them. So sometimes that can be stressful but not too much. The zone had interviews with the President of the mission...super spiritual experience. We talked about how the Senior Companion who is the Holy Ghost should always be guiding us. The question is...is the Holy Ghost your senior comp or your Junior comp? Or your not your comp at all? That's always what President Adams asks us on a daily basis.

Any ways...the best part is on the way! So it turns out that my comp had a bad case of the food poisoning...during his interview he had to always leave because he had to go to the bathroom so bad. So after the interview, we left the church to go back to the area...when all a sudden he had to go again, only this time he was sprinting in a local mall.  Well, while I was enjoying a delicious McFlurry waiting outside for him, I come to find he had the double dragon.  So we had to call the nurse to call us a taxi, because we couldn't take a bus due to fear of throwing up there. So while we were on our way to the house and buying some medication, he made us pull over to the side to throw up!!  Okay at this point I was starting to feel bad for good ole Harris.  Well, we get to the house and the medication didn't help he threw up 4 more times. So we called the nurse and we went to the hospital...the nurses told him he had Food Poisoning and was badly intoxicated...that sucks bro!!  He was on bed rest for 4 days...and during that time I read almost the whole Book of Mormon and a ton of church movies (some like 4 times), I-spy, and Life Before the Mission. President Adams and Sister Adams came to visit us, because we didn't go to church...President Adams and I blessed the sacrament....oh and funny little side note. I blessed it in my pajamas...I've never done that before hahaha! The best part is that we didn't have to shave, we came home with beards. Good times man...well that's my week...not much but it would have been better if you were all here to see it.!! Now me and my companion are back home and we have to take it easy for a couple of days. But yeah the church is still true!!!

Jan 30th - LA CIMA!

What´s up fam?

Yo what it iz... whats up? This week was super cool, I love my area I'm in and my companion and I have way too much fun here in ¨La Cima¨. The members love us, and feed us a ton of food!  I'm getting fat like no joke...pretty soon my pants won´t fit me.  All they give us is bread and soda, and we can´t say no...its soooo good. I love working here because the members trust us and give us a ton of referrals. We had 4 investigators in church the other day, because the members car pooled with them. We also do a lot of family home evenings, and they are super fun. It´s awesome to be in a ward where the members actually care about the missionary work. It's a little weird because its something I'm not used too...but the work is going super well. Work hard and eating well...hahaha!! My goal is to gain as much weight as I can...because Belize ruined me.

Yesterday in church, we had a ton of people show up...like around 150. The ward is huge...every Sunday we go the house of the Montepeques...he is the 2nd counselor. We go to the temple (meaning his house is super nice) and we eat very well...like steak and rice and beans every Sunday. I go into a food coma every time. Cool people!

Also had a super cool lesson with one of our investigators J. who came to church for the first time...cool thing is that he's a gangster and just got out of jail like 4 days ago, hahaha!  He loved church. He accepted a date for the 18 of this month. Apparently when he was in the prison he read the bible everyday and wants to make a change in is life...super cool guy.

We also had an awesome family home evening with the Perez family...the pic with a ton of people. The dad was a return missionary and is a baller about reading the Book of Mormon every night with his family...the spirit is so strong in that house. So much love...it reminds me of the family home evenings we would do in my family. Loved it.

Well, I hope you guys have a good day and start seeing your own miracles. There are a ton everyday we just are too prideful to see them. I love El Salvador, my ward, my comp, and my investigators. That´s why the time flies so fast...its kinda sad. I don´t want to think about home...so much work to do.

Love you

Jan 23rd - MEMBERS, INVESTIGATORS, GYM & PROTEIN...I'M IN HEAVEN!

Hola fam,

Hey what's up everybody?  So as you guys already know, I'm in El Salvador, and yes I love it!!!  My companion is Elder Harris, and yes he´s great uncle is Martin Harris, one of the 3 witnesses of the Book of Mormon....kinda cool, but then he was the one who lost the pages of Lehi.  Everyone gives him crap for it....including me and it´s super funny. He´s awesome, we have so much fun, the zone is awesome...its´called Los Heroas!  Its right in the center of the capitol.  Our area is a ward with a ton of members....everyone speaks English too...its awesome.  We get our laundry done for free...and everyday we eat lunch with a member....WOW!! It´s definitely something I'm not used to.  My area is called La Cima, aka Ontop!  We have an awesome view of the house.  But in the house it´s just me and Elder Harris, we have so much fun. We always crack jokes and have fun everyday...everyday is an adventure.

The members love us and always want to help us and give us references...we have a couple of investigators that are doing great, and are progressing for the next month.  The first day Elder Harris took me to get Burger King....I loved it. Also in our area there is a gym, and yes we get swole and yes we drink protein.....I'm in heaven.  I think I have already gained like 3 pounds in less then a week...because Belize they don´t feed you hardly ever.

I love my comp and my area...I swear every change gets better and better. I can´t really complain...the mission is the place to be right now.  Also Sunday I gave a talk on the First Vision...the Bishop saw us at the pupusaria and asked if we could give it...it was Saturday night at 9 in the night when he told us this. I was a little ticked because I didn't have it prepared super well...but I was super good and the members loved it.

The gospel is so true and I love the mission. I am honestly having the time of my life right now...I'm getting to the point in my mission where everyone says....Elder your getting close to finishing...but I don´t want to leave...EVER! I am in Heaven....doing nothing but blessing the lives of other people...I'm so at peace right now....it´s amazing.

Jan. 16th - BACK TO THE LAND OF PUPUSAS!!

Wad di gwan fam,   (last time I can say this, hahaha!)

Hey what's up everybody? This week was super cool, kinda crazy because of all the immigration papers we had to cover for the latinos in the island. We went back and forth to Belize City like 4 times this week...(Every boat ride is about and hour and a half.) SO that was a little crazy, but I enjoyed the boat rides, hahaha! I think I hold the record for the most time as a missionary riding in the water taxi! So many priceless hours on that boat.

But the big new is that... I'm going back to "Land of Pupusas!" Yep...El Salvador! I'm really excited because I will be in a good zone with a good companion. He's name is Elder Harris, and he's from Pleasant Grove, Utah. He's a straight up G! He was in my group that left SLC...and he was in the same room in the MTC with me. He always told me that "We are gonna be comps someday." The day has come baby. Our area is gonna be sick...its a huge ward filled with a lot of members so I'm excited to teach them. I know this change is gonna feel like 2 weeks...its gonna be balling.!! I am so grateful for the revelation Pres. Adams received for this change...I can't really complain.

This is my last official day as a missionary in Belize. I am beyond grateful for everything right now in the mission. I am a bottle of emotions right now....because Belize is an amazing place to be, let alone a missionary here. It's a great privilege to put on this plague and teach Spanish, Kriol, and English....I would feel ungrateful if I didn't mention that.

I am super excited to go back to El Salvador with Elder Harris in Los Heroas.(name of the zone) But also I'm super sad to leave San Pedro. I have such a great love for these people out here on this beautiful island. I have learned so much so fast. I have learned more Spanish due to the translating I do here, it's kinda my calling they gave me since I'm the only one that could speak both Spanish and English.  I learned some amazing kriol from Belize city...the memories I have made here in Belize will always be sacred and special to me, I have learned to love so many people and reach out, but more importantly how to trust in Heavenly Father's plan he has for me...what he wants for me is more valuable then what I want for myself.

I'm grateful, truly I am for all the wonderful experiences. But i know I'm on the next chapter of my missionary experience...my personal motto is now the words of Pres. Hinckley, "Don't get discouraged, things well work out". I try to live by that saying everyday of my mission, taking it day by day. I love this gospel and my companions. I would like to appreciate my time with Elder Merida, It's been amazing and we baptized an amazing family who loves the Lord. I couldn't have asked for a better time here as a missionary here in San Pedro!!!!!!!
